Amish Center Diamond - 3 and 6 hour
class
This workshop will be a color study to develop your own Amish Center Diamond palette for a
quilt top. You will do a miniature fabric mock-up. Discussion will include quilting
designs, making them to fill
and fit the space, and how to mark the quilt top. In the 6-hour class you will begin to
cut and sew your designed top. Machines necessary for the 6-hour class. All levels.
Drafting Fundamentals - 3 hour class
Drafting Fundamentals will be geared to show how easy it is to subdivide any size block to
make the standard designs, i.e., 4-patch, 5-patch, 7-patch, 9-patch, etc. You will learn
how to draft an 8-pointed star master grid from any size square, then transfer that
information to draft any 8-pointed star based pattern, and you will also
learn how to draft a mariners compass master grid. Beginner and intermediate levels.
Quilting Design & Stencil Making - 3 hour class
Now that the quilt top is pieced, how and where do I quilt it? If you are confused about
what and where to quilt and how much to quilt, this is the class for you. Bring in your
quilt tops and let's have an old-fashion discussion session. We will explore quilting
planning strategies, learn how to make a stencil to fit the space, and how to
make a feathered border and corner to fit. Note taking and demo class only. All levels.
Quilting Design & Stencil Making - 6 hour class
We will do everything in the above described class, but hands-on. We will also
explore quilting ideas for your particular tops. All levels.
