National Quilting Day
The National Quilting Association started National Quilting Day 22 years ago in 1991. To celebrate the day, they have chosen a pattern of an Ohio star with a simple Mariner’s Compass center designed by Martha Ethridge. The pattern is available as a free download on their website.

The largest quilt show in SWVA offers an extensive quilt and wearable exhibit, two special exhibits: "The River Runs Through It" and "Vinescapes", a large vendor mall, workshops and Friday night lecture. Featured Quilt Artist: Annette Kennedy from Colorado exhibits her work in “The Making of a Quilt – From Photo through Paint”.
Other instructors include Paula Golden, Debby Kratovil, Barbara Cline, Susan Brittingham, and Karen DuMont. Door prizes, Raffle quilt, Viewers Choice, and hand made ribbons round up a great show experience.
