The committee has been furiously been meeting and planning for the April 24 – 27, 2008 Celebration, 
again at Smith Mountain Lake 4-H Center.  At the August VCQ meeting you will be able to pay your $50 
deposit for your reserved spot.  This $50 is non refundable.   The brochures will be available for 
members attending, then the brochure mailed to members not attending and put on the website a few days 
after the meeting.  Please talk up the “Celebration Fun” to your quilt guild, friends and local quit 
shops.  Since teacher fees, facility and food cost, as well as airline fares (gas), have gone up the fee 
for members will be raised.  The fee for non members will be much higher this year.  They may want to 
consider joining VCQ.  

Thursday night we will check in around 4pm.  After dinner we will have a meet and greet the teachers and
vendor shopping.  There will be classes all day Friday & Saturday with lectures both night. Sunday we will 
have a later, brunch, finish up activities and leave the facility around 11:00 am. Sunday.  We are continuing 
the traditional buck night, fat quarter night, and great silent auction.  We would like you to consider 
donating UFO blocks, fat quarters, patterns, books, tools etc.  Please remember this will not be a flea 
market for just cleaning out your sewing rooms.  We have an exciting block lotto being planned.  Each purchased 
kit will complete 2 different traditional blocks to be turned in for one chance.  They will be available at 
the August meeting. The contest this year will be a theme of decorating an apron. Start saving you money, 
Celebration 2008 is less than a year away.  See you in August.
