IMPORTANT: Please allow yourself plenty of time to collect supplies, some of which you may wish to order.
Learn to create a series of unique fabrics as you explore playful exercises in design. Start by
sampling the effects of transparent fabric paints and move on to utilizing a multitude of methods to create original fabric designs. Add to your technique toolbox as we cover a wide variety of topics including stamping, stenciling, printing with found objects, direct application, and more. Join in the fun as we play, experiment and create. |
| About Your Teacher |
Kevin Womack is a textile artist living in Lynchburg,
Virginia. In 1986, he was introduced to quilting by his maternal grandmother. Having always loved the legacy of family quilts, he decided to have her teach him the tradition. He was hooked from the first stitch and continues producing quilts and quilt art today. Kevin is passionate about hand dyeing and patterning fabrics with surface design techniques. His experiments produce a line of unique fabrics and clothing that he exhibits and sells. He recently taped an episode (Show #2703) for The Quilt Show with Ricky Tims and Alex Anderson which aired in August of 2020. Kevin teaches and lectures nationally. |
